Huge update in search for Julian Story’s missing head after he was allegedly murdered by Beauty and the Geek star Tamika Chesser

The missing head of a man allegedly murdered and dismembered by a former Beauty and the Geek star has been found in scrubland.

Julian Story, 39, was allegedly murdered by his partner Tamika Chesser, 34, at their Port Lincoln home on June 17.

His body was found in the bathroom of their unit but police previously revealed Mr Story’s head was missing.

SA Police Major Crime boss Darren Fielke told a press conference on Thursday that Mr Story’s skull had been found by a dog walker, ending a weeks-long search.

‘Earlier today, police received information from a member of the public in Port Lincoln that they had located in a scrub area what appeared to be a human skull,’ he said.

‘There are some walking tracks through there, my understanding is the person who contacted us today was walking their dog in the area. The dog ran off into the scrub, it didn’t come back when called.

‘They had to walk into the scrub area to find it [the head]. [The remains] were not buried. They were quite out in the open.’

‘Preliminary investigations and phone calls to the forensic science centre indicate the remains are most likely human and I believe they are the remains of Julian Story.

Fielke said the remains would be forensically tested over the coming days.

‘Julian’s family have been contacted today and provided an update in relation to what has been located and what the ongoing process is from here. Hopefully we can give them some comfort that we have found all the remains of Julian,’ he said.

Police are yet to formally interview Chesser over the alleged murder of Julian Story.

Chesser appeared in Port Lincoln Magistrates Court via video link on Thursday, from the forensic mental health facility James Nash House, in relation to three separate matters.

The 34-year-old appeared with a shaved head.

The former cocktail waitress was thrust into the spotlight at the age of 19 when she appeared on series two of the Seven Network show in 2010.

She has been charged with murder and with interfering with human remains to pervert the course of justice.

The discovery comes after police last week scoured multiple locations around Port Lincoln after new intelligence identified fresh search zones.

The operation turned up at least three items, an Elvis t-shirt, a drink bottle and a wristband, in scrubland near the town’s cemetery.

A second location was later searched. While the items will undergo forensic testing, police said there was still no trace of human remains.

Det. Supt Fielke last week said it was unclear when police would be able to interview Chesser.

Chesser was allegedly captured on CCTV hours after the alleged murder, walking with three dogs, and wearing a head covering.

In the days after the alleged murder, a neighbour told The Advertiser he had run into Story’s unit to extinguish what he thought was a smouldering fire, only to learn from police later that it was his remains.

Authorities have since scoured bushland, parks, reserves, and the popular Parnkalla Trail for evidence while specialist divers searched Boston Bay, assisted by the SES.
