A man allegedly stabbed to death by his partner was a local mechanic and father of two children.

Scott Sandover, 49, was allegedly murdered by Jane Demelza Bannister, 44, at their Baldivis home, in Perth‘s semi-rural southern outskirts, about 6.40pm on Tuesday.

Police were called to the property on Bramall Terrace where they allegedly found Sandover with critical injuries.

He was rushed to Rockingham Hospital, where he later died.

Bannister was arrested at the scene and has been charged with murder.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Sandover was a mechanic who had been operating a business, O&C Mechanical, across southern Perth for more than a decade.

Just three months ago, Bannister spruiked her partner’s business online in a local Facebook community group after a member asked for service recommendations.

‘We may be able to help mate,’ she responded, sharing Mr Sandover’s business card details.

‘No mark up. We prefer it if you buy the parts and then just pay for fitting time.

‘Licensed and insured. 35 yrs experience.’

Tributes have begun to pour in online as friends offered their condolences to Sandover’s previous partner and their two children.

‘I can only imagine how hard this must be. Keeping you in my thoughts,’ one person said.

‘How heartbreaking, sending our thoughts and love to you and the kids,’ another friend wrote.

Business records indicate Sandover had resided at the Baldivis rental home for at least five years.

Police spent Wednesday scouring the home for evidence as forensic teams remained at the scene.

Bannister made no application for bail when she faced Perth Magistrates Court on Friday.

She did not enter a plea and has been remanded in custody to appear at Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court via video link on October 29.
