A California airport worker was killed after a cargo pallet he was towing crushed his vehicle.
John Brandon Picazo Lacayanga, 28, died on Sunday evening while working at San Francisco International Airport.
Emergency responders rushed to the airport and found Lacayanga’s vehicle crushed under the pallet, airport officials confirmed to Bay City News.
Lacayanga was an employee for the Dubai National Air Travel Agency, which offers ground handling, cargo, travel, catering and retail services.
He was carrying cargo between Terminal 3 and the International boarding area G around 7pm when he was killed, according to airport officials.
No other vehicles were involved and Lacayanga was alone at the time of the incident.
The coroner’s office confirmed that Lacayanga was a resident of San Francisco.
‘We are deeply saddened to confirm that a dnata team member passed away whilst on duty at San Francisco International Airport on 18 January,’ dnata said in a statement.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office investigated and determined that Lacayanga’s death was an accident.
Lacayanga’s family has started raising money for funeral expenses through a GoFundMe.
‘This tragic loss was unexpected, and we hope to ease the financial burden on his parents during this incredibly difficult time,’ the description reads.
He is survived by his parents, Hospicio Lacayanga and Mary Jane Lacayanga.
