Trump halts migration from all third world countries and orders audit of green cards from 19 others as he humiliates reporter in explosive exchange over Afghan shooter

President Donald Trump will ‘permanently pause migration’ from third world countries and ordered a green card audit of 19 nations after the Washington, DC terror attack that left a National Guard soldier dead.

Trump blasted former president Joe Biden for letting unvetted migrants stream into America – claiming he allowed the Afghan shooting suspect into the US during the disastrous 2021 withdrawal.

‘I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the US system to fully recover,’ he said in a Truth Social post Thursday night.

Trump also vowed to end all federal benefits for noncitizens, denaturalize migrants who undermine the US, and deport any foreign nationals deemed a security risk or ‘non-compatible with Western Civilization’.

‘Only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation,’ he wrote in the Truth Social post.

‘Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for – You won’t be here for long!’

Trump earlier demanded every green card issued to immigrants from 19 ‘countries of concern’ face an urgent reexamination.

The countries are: Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela.

The extraordinary measures come after 29-year-old Afghan Rahmanullah Lakanwal allegedly shot two National Guardsmen who were on duty near the White House, leaving 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom dead and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe fighting for his life.

Lakanwal arrived in America in 2021 as part of the disastrous US withdrawal from Afghanistan after serving as an ally of Special Forces troops in his CIA-backed ‘Zero Unit’.

During the withdrawal incredible photos and video showed hundreds of Afghans running to board cargo jets. On one plane 640 migrants were overloaded into an aircraft designed to carry 150.

Trump on Thursday humiliated CBS reporter Nancy Cordes after she questioned his claims that Biden was to blame for this week’s attack, and noted it was actually his administration which vetted Lakanwal and granted him asylum.

Actually, your DOJ IG just reported this year that there was thorough vetting by DHS and by the FBI of these Afghans who were brought into the US,’ Cordes, the Chief White House Correspondent for CBS, said. ‘So why do you blame the Biden administration for what this man did?’

Trump was outraged by her line of questioning, instantly firing back: ‘Are you stupid?’

‘Because they let them in. Are you stupid? Are you a stupid person?’ he said. ‘They came in on a plane along with thousands of other people that shouldn’t be here and you’re just asking questions because you’re a stupid person.’

After delivering his scathing rebuke, Trump turned his attention back to his sweeping immigration security review, which could impact tens of thousands of legal residents.

Sarah Beckstrom tragically succumbed to her injuries on Thursday, hours after her dad publicly confirmed she would not survive

Wolfe was shot alongside Beckstrom in Washington, DC on Wednesday

Federal officials describe it as a ‘full scale, rigorous’ process and a dramatic escalation triggered by Wednesday’s deadly attack.

The announcements come on a dramatic day where the president earlier had to deliver the devastating news that Beckstrom had succumbed to her injuries on a live-streamed phone call with service members.

‘Just seconds before I went on, right now, I heard that Sarah Beckstrom of West Virginia, one of the guardsmen that we were talking about, highly respected, young, magnificent person… outstanding in every way, she’s just passed away,’ he said in the call to troops.

‘She’s no longer with us. She’s looking down on us right now. Her parents are with her. It’s just happened. She was savagely attacked, she’s dead.’

Her colleague, Staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains in critical condition in hospital.

In Trump’s furious rant against Biden on Thursday night, he vowed to ‘terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen.’

He also said he would ‘remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country, end all Federal benefits and subsidies to noncitizens of our Country, denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.

‘These goals will be pursued with the aim of achieving a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process.’

Trump lashed out at the reporter, asking ‘are you stupid?’ when she challenged his repeated arguments that Biden was to blame for the tragedy

Nationals of Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela will have their Green Cards reexamined

He lamented the census data which revealed there are 53 million foreigners in America, claiming ‘most of which are on welfare, from failed nations, or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.

‘They and their children are supported through massive payments from Patriotic American Citizens who, because of their beautiful hearts, do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form.’

Trump said everyday Americans ‘put up with what has happened to our Country, but it’s eating them alive to do so!’

‘This refugee burden is the leading cause of social dysfunction in America, something that did not exist after World War II (Failed schools, high crime, urban decay, overcrowded hospitals, housing shortages, and large deficits, etc.)’

In the same lengthy Truth Social post, Trump singled out refugees from Somalia, claiming they are ‘completely taking over the once great State of Minnesota’ and targeting Somalian congresswoman Ilhan Omar as ‘the worst “Congressman/woman” in our Country.’

‘Always wrapped in her swaddling hijab, and who probably came into the U.S.A. illegally,’ he wrote, adding ‘you are not allowed to marry your brother.’

Trump’s swipe at Omar comes on the back of years-long speculation – which were never substantiated and partly perpetuated by Trump himself in 2019 – that she married her brother.

He said Omar ‘does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country, its Constitution, and how “badly” she is treated, when her place of origin is a decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation, which is essentially not even a country.’

Trump shared a lengthy Truth Social post on Thanksgiving night just hours after revealing one of the National Guard’s shot in the attack had died

Shooting suspect Lakanwal applied for asylum in 2024 after his temporary visa lapsed, and in April 2025, it was granted by the Trump administration.

A White House official told the Daily Mail that Lakanwal would not have been removed from the country because of his parole status.

‘This Afghan national was paroled into the US by the Biden Admin,’ the White House official said.

‘After that, Joe Biden signed into law that parole program, and entered into the 2023 Ahmed Court Settlement, which bound USCIS to adjudicate his asylum claim on an expedited bases. Regardless of asylum status, this monster would not have been removed due to his parole status, granted by Joe Biden.’

Earlier on Thursday, a longtime friend shared details about his mental health battle struggling with the horrors he saw and violence he carried out as part of his duty within the unit.

‘When he saw blood, bodies, and the wounded, he could not tolerate it,’ the childhood friend told The New York Times.

‘It put a lot of pressure on his mind.’

The father-of-five was part of the elite paramilitary outfit which engaged in combat with the Taliban during the war in Afghanistan, often referred to as a ‘death squad’.

Sarah Beckstrom’s father had heartbreakingly shared that his daughter would not survive her injuries and was at her bedside when she died

While his role within the unit is not clear, his taskforce was often linked to night raids, covert operations and was suspected of carrying out executions.

‘He would tell me and our friends that their military operations were very tough, their job was very difficult, and they were under a lot of pressure,’ the friend said.

Hours after his identity was made public on Wednesday night, CIA Director John Ratcliffe sensationally admitted Lakanwal was known to his agency and had worked with the team.

He told Fox News that his involvement was ‘as a member of a partner force in Kandahar, which ended shortly following the chaotic evacuation’.
