Prison officer, 24, admits illicit sexual relationship with male inmate AND role in ‘drug smuggling’ operation

A glamorous prison officer has pleaded guilty to having an illicit sexual relationship with a male inmate and conspiracy to supply cannabis.

Leah Robinson, 24, pictured for the first time, entered her two pleas at Nottingham Crown Court while facing prisoner Patryk Dziewiatkowski via video link and her co-accused on drug charges.

Robinson pleaded not guilty to a third count of supplying Class A drug cocaine, along with others, to another.

Prosecutor Gareth Weetman told Judge Tina Dempster: ‘This is a drug smuggling case when Leah Robinson was a prison officer at Lowdham Grange.’

No details of the crimes were given.

Robinson, with long honey-coloured hair and wearing a brown check jacket and black trousers, spoke only to confirm her name and enter pleas.

When the first charge was put to her she glowered at Polish Dziewiatkowski, appearing on a video link from HMP Nottingham and shook her head.

She admitted the offence of misconduct in a public office between February 23, 2023 and August 17, 2023 while acting as a prison officer at HMP Lowdham wilfully misconducted herself by engaging in a sexual relationship with Partryk Dziewiatsku.

She look upset and shame-faced as she said: ‘Guilty’ from the glass-panelled dock.

Robinson from Cherry Willingham, Lincolnshire, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply a Class B drug cannabis between March 10, 2023 and April 18, 2024 with the five others, to another.

Dziewiatsku also pleaded guilty to the same offence.

Both Robinson and Dziewiatsku pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to supply a Class A drug cocaine between the same dates with others, to another.

Robinson was in the dock with three co-defendants – two women and a man – who each pleaded not guilty to the drug charges.

She was freed on conditional bail and faces trial with her co accused on April 13 next year.

It is not known if the defendant is still in a relationship with the prisoner, who had been serving time at HM Prison Lowdham Grange, a Category B men’s prison near Nottingham, while she was working there.

On leaving court Robinson declined to discuss the case, telling the Daily Mail: ‘I have nothing to say.’

She is the latest in a string of attractive prison workers to have been charged over illegal contact and liaison with inmates in recent months.

Earlier this month Sarah Barnett pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office which is understood to involve having an illicit relationship with a male prisoner.

Barnett, 31, who has since left the Prison Service to start working as a beauty therapist, will be sentenced on January 7 next year. She faces a possible jail term.

Dark-haired Barnett from Rugeley, Staffordshire, is charged with being a holder of public office, wilfully neglecting to perform her duty and wilfully misconducting herself.

She entered her plea during a brief five minute hearing at Derby Crown Court. No details of the offence were given at this stage.

She was released on conditional bail to return to the same court to learn her fate in two months.

Last month prison guard Heather Pinchbeck pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court to making a series of illicit phone calls which are understood to be to a violent inmate.

Glamorous blonde Pinchbeck, 28, who has since left the service, was charged with one count of making illegal mobile communication with a prisoner who she met while on duty.

Pinchbeck from Drakelow, near Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, now a business management executive, is due to be sentenced in January next year.

In September prison cashier Yolanda Briggs was jailed for having a sexual relationship with an inmate who had bragged about their illicit fling and was dobbed in by a fellow convict.

Briggs, 52, pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office and was given an eight-month sentence at Lincoln Crown Court.
