Two bodies have been found on different beaches within 24 hours on the Gold Coast.

Both Tallebudgera Creek and Palm Beach, in the Gold Coast’s south, were swarmed with police this weekend following the grim discoveries.

The first body, belonging to a man in his 60s, was found at Echo Beach in Tallebudgera Creek at about 6.45am on Saturday.

The second body, belonging to a woman in her 70s or 80s, was located at about 5.40am on Sunday near Palm Beach Surf Lifesaving Club on Jefferson Lane.

Neither death is being treated as suspicious.

Local man Wayne had headed down to Palm Beach at about 5.20am on Sunday for a Jeffo Boardriders outing.

He recalled the body being fully clothed and partially submerged in the water.

‘Two ladies were standing by the body which was lapping in the water,’ he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

‘The paramedics arrived and tried to resuscitate the body.’

He believed eight police officers attended the scene.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Branch were spotted at the scene about 8.30am as the body was pulled from the water.

The remains were cleared at about 9am.

The first body that was found was discovered on the rocks of Echo Beach on Saturday.

Locals described the man’s death as ‘horribly sad’.

Queensland Police established two crime scenes and are continuing to investigate the deaths.
