A popular brand has issued an urgent recall for batches of sushi ginger sold in Asda and Waitrose which may contain pieces of glass.

Japanese and Korean food brand Kelly Loves has advised customers not to consume affected jars and return them to stores as soon as possible for a full refund.

The recall affects 150g jars of the product with a best before date of February 9, 2026 with batch number UK12019.

Kelly Loves also produces other Asian products including noodles, sauces and kimchi.

In a statement published by the Food Standards Agency, the company said: ‘Kelly Loves is recalling specific batch of SUSHI GINGER due to a potential risk of glass contamination.

‘While the product has been removed from shelves as precautionary measure, we are now extending the recall to consumers who may have purchased the affected product.

‘Other Kelly Loves Sushi Ginger batches/products are not affected by this recall.

‘Customers are advised not to consume this product batch. We would like you to kindly return the affected product to the store you purchased from, and you will be granted a full refund (no receipt required).

Thee recall affects packets of the chocolate bars sold between January and March 2025 with two different batch codes.

These included the codes 758612 and 758664 which are visible on the price ticket and receipt.
