JFK files named ‘dirtier’ than expected in major admission by head of declassification task force Anna Paulina Luna

A top Republican leading a task force to declassify national secrets has revealed that more documents about John F. Kennedy’s assassination are expected.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., a leader of the House of Representatives Task Force on Declassification and Transparency, announced late Tuesday night that additional files on JFK’s murder will be forthcoming from the Director of National Intelligence.

‘Per DNI, there are still more docs being uploaded to archives website,’ Luna posted on X late Tuesday evening. ‘They are scanning and uploading in real time.’

‘All documents can be viewed in person at the [National Archives] facility in College Park, Maryland if you don’t want to wait for them to be uploaded online,’ the 35-year-old Republican wrote.

Earlier that day, thousands of files were released by the National Archives after President Donald Trump promised to expose the classified documents earlier this year.

The massive release came roughly 24 hours after Trump announced that a trove of 80,000 pages of new material would be revealed.

The trove of documents includes hand-written notes, typewritten reports and other previously classified documents. Many of the files are old and blurry, making some of the documents difficult to read.

Luna also shared this week that her team is searching for an internal CIA report that may shine light on what agency insiders knew about the assassination.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., announced late Tuesday night that additional JFK assassination files are on their way. She also shared that she is looking for a specific CIA Inspector General report that may shed light on the murder

‘One thing that I am specifically looking for with my team is a CIA inspector general report that actually was filed from members within the CIA,’ she told conservative talk show host Benny Johnson.

‘That admitted that the CIA was intentionally hiding information from Congress during the Warren Commission,’ Luna explained, noting the congressional investigation into JFK’s death decades ago.

‘So that document in itself is going to be key for our hearing, whether or not we find out who actually pulled the trigger,’ she explained.

But Luna shared that she believes ‘information has been destroyed,’ so getting to the bottom of the assassination may be more difficult than anticipated.

‘Frankly, what we’re finding is the CIA was a lot dirtier than anyone could have ever imagined,’ she told Johnson. ‘Thank goodness we have good people in charge who are going to be flushing the system.’

The Republican also praised CIA Director John Ratcliffe for helping release the highly anticipated files, some of which cast the intelligence agency in a negative light.

‘Many people don’t know that Director Ratcliffe has played an instrumental role in this process to establish transparency with the American people,’ Luna wrote on X, calling him ‘an unsung hero of the JFK Declassification effort.’

Despite the promise there won’t be redactions, some of the files released this week are heavily redacted with thick black bars across the pages.

Documents related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy are displayed after they were released following an order from U.S. President Donald Trump

Some of the documents hold information on Lee Harvey Oswald’s activities prior to the assassination including his contacts with Cuban and Soviet intelligence.

One document noted that Oswald was considered a ‘poor shot.’

Other files include mention of specific CIA agents and assets tied to the investigations into Oswald.

Last month, Luna made the bombshell revelation that she believes there were ‘two shooters’ in JFK’s assassination in 1963.

‘I believe that there were two shooters, and we should be finding more information as we are able to,’ she said.
