A 58-year-old man has died after a nine-vehicle collision in a regional town.
The man was a passenger in a Toyota Hilux van that smashed into the other eight vehicles on Wellford St in Shepparton, 190km north of Melbourne, at about 5pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Three other people were also taken to hospital for observation.
‘The investigation into the collision is ongoing,’ Victoria Police said.
Police urged anyone who witnessed or has footage of the crash to contact Crime Stoppers.
There have been 164 deaths on Victorian roads so far this year, compared to 167 deaths this time last year.
